President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has praised the people of Adjumani for their warm reception and reaffirmed that the district’s steady progress reflects the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) enduring philosophy of peace, unity and development.
Peace Anchored in Unity
Addressing residents at a rally in Adjumani Town, the President said West Nile and Uganda as a whole are enjoying unprecedented peace, “for the first time in our history” thanks to the NRM’s rejection of sectarian politics.
He noted that unity remains the cornerstone of national security, which has enabled the army to protect all Ugandans regardless of tribe or religion.

Visible Gains in Development
Museveni cited ongoing works on the Moyo–Yumbe–Laropi–Koboko–Arua Road, the spread of electricity to more rural areas, and stronger social services as evidence of West Nile’s transformation.
He said Adjumani’s population growth itself shows improvements in health and education.
According to district data, Adjumani has received Shs 17.6 billion under the Parish Development Model (PDM), with 97.7 percent already disbursed to 18,589 households.
The district also runs 36 Emyooga SACCOs with more than 14,000 members, and has 77 government primary schools and 11 secondary schools, including three new seed schools.

Expanding Health and Water Access
The President commended ongoing projects such as upgrades to Appa, Pachara and Alere Health Centres, and new irrigation schemes in Mokoloyoro and Kirilo.
Adjumani’s safe-water coverage now stands at 94 percent, among the highest in the region.
However, Museveni warned that theft of drugs in government facilities remains a major problem.
“We shall use computers and trusted, God-fearing people to monitor this vice,” he said.
Wealth Creation and the Way Forward
Museveni reiterated his call for every household to engage in productive enterprises, echoing the success of PDM and skilling hubs across the country.
He thanked religious and local leaders for promoting the NRM’s wealth-creation message, urging residents to remain united and focused on prosperity. As he concluded his West Nile engagements, the President extended appreciation to the people of Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Obongi, Madi-Okollo, Arua, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Terego, Maracha and Adjumani for their hospitality.
