President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to officially open the inaugural Uganda Connect International Buyers Week, a strategic platform aimed at boosting Uganda’s global trade footprint by linking exporters directly to vetted international buyers and investors.
The four-day event, scheduled for 25–28 November 2025 at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, is championed by the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID) under the theme “Meet. Connect. Trade.”

Driving Export-Led Industrialization
The Buyers Week is designed to help Uganda transition from commodity-based trading to structured, value-driven, and long-term export partnerships. Hosted at a time when Uganda is aggressively growing its global commercial presence, the event will feature business-to-business meetings, factory visits, product sampling, and trade facilitation.
Speaking ahead of the event, PACEID Chairman Odrek Rwabwogo said the initiative will play a critical role in strengthening the country’s export systems.
“Our goal is simple, to eliminate blind trade and build structured, reliable markets for Ugandan goods and services. The Uganda Connect Buyers Week allows global buyers to experience our products, meet our exporters, and see the efficiency of our value chains firsthand,” Rwabwogo said.
He noted that the platform will help transform goodwill into tangible business deals and durable partnerships that benefit local producers.

Showcasing Uganda’s Best at the Marketplace
This year’s edition will feature the first-ever Uganda Connect Marketplace, an open-access showcase that will allow international buyers to interact directly with top-tier, export-ready Ugandan brands. The marketplace will include live product demonstrations, buyer sampling, and consumer engagement.
Rwabwogo added that the platform complements Uganda’s growing international presence through ongoing trade hub expansions in key markets such as the UAE, Nigeria, USA, the UK, and Serbia.
“We want the world to see what Uganda can offer, not just in commodities, but in quality, reliability, and innovation,” he noted.

Building Confidence in Uganda’s Product Quality
The Buyers Week is part of the broader Uganda Connect Model, which seeks to raise global confidence in Uganda’s export sector by strengthening product traceability, branding excellence, and sustained market engagement.
The event is expected to draw international buyers, trade representatives, investors, and diplomats interested in sourcing Ugandan products or exploring collaboration opportunities along the country’s export value chains.
